2003 Chevrolet Celta

The first year sales of GM do Brasil Chevrolet Celta is the most successful product launch in company history of 76 years. A total of 81,628 vehicles Chevrolet Celta sold during its first twelve months on the market, the highest figure in the first year of record sales.

The highest monthly figure reached in August, with 10,025 sold Celts. Chevrolet Celta sales during the month of August representing 31.2% of all GM do Brasil retail sales. Almost 80% of the 10,025 Celtas sold last August, were acquired through celta.com.br.

When the Chevrolet Celta was launched in September 2000, GM Brazil ready to break ground in many areas of the company. From the design of the vehicle and co-development relationship with the supplier who joined GM's partners in the all-new automotive Gravataí, the first high-volume Internet sales model to be applied in the automotive world - each element of the Chevrolet Celta marked the launching of aggressive innovation designed to achieve unprecedented levels of customer satisfaction.

"The degree of innovation inherent in each of the main aspects of the march Chevrolet Celta made a risky business.

We are cautiously enthusiastic about the project ... But after seeing our behind the scenes work will culminate in the sales records, high levels of adrenaline and our team is now channeling all their energies to other ambitious projects, "said Walter Wieland, president of GM do Brasil and vice president GM Latin America, Africa and Middle East.

The Chevrolet Celta's first year sales numbers are slightly higher than those of the great success of the Chevrolet Corsa, which launched the fastest growing automotive segment in Brazil, "subcompact" car segment 1.0L engine. The fact that the Chevrolet Celta was launched today in a segment larger and filled with fierce competition from new entries from around the world makes its appeal.

Between January and August 2001, GM do Brasil subcompact sold 150,329 vehicles, an increase of 48% over the same period in 2000.
